Contentment != No Desire

When thinking about being content, I am thinking of people with no growth.
Many times the state of contentment is being equaled to the state of going nowhere or somewhat stuck at the "content" position.

However, thinking more or with researching from thesaurus.com, actually content means limiting the desires.
Being content means understanding which desires are necessary and "good".

Are you that wise? Are you that smart?

Lately I have been kinda down.....
I think that I don't live up to where I can be or I probably can't be where I want to be.

I am not wise enough. I am not eloquent and I am not a good writer.
I always think i am the mediocre! I hate mediocrity >.<

But this morning, He reminds me these verses:

1 Corinthians 1:27-31

27But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29so that no one may boast before him. 30It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31Therefore, as it is written: "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord."[d]

Makes me realize that I am thankful I have nothing that I can boast on.
I am thankful that whatever I can do is only because of His grace.

Procrastination *Sigh....

Procrastination has its price.
True enough, in this particular case, it costs me more than $200.
I have been postponing my LSAT test since February 2008!
I'm starting to doubt myself.
Is it because my desire in going to law school is not that strong?
or is it just that i am lazy?
or....it does not align with God's purpose in my life?

*sigh.....

since I am already scheduled to take the test in February 2010.
I think I'd better study for it and just take it anyway.

Procrastination and Fear of Failure is not the answer.

When the going gets tough, The tough gets going...

Lately, I have been hearing many good news from people around me....

Two got promoted at work.
One makes lots of money in stock market.
One passed an important exam.
One is into new relationship and going stronger...

I can't help not thinking about myself.
I am asking God, "When's my turn, Lord?"
"When's my breakthrough coming?"
I'm hanging on for my portion.
For those of you that feels you are stuck. I am there........
I feel the desperation for those breakthroughs!
in my career, in my family, in my own relationship.

Don't get me wrong, though....
I am happy for all of my friends.
I think they deserve it!
I believe that they paid their price in getting all those.
Sowing in prayers.....
Faithful in little things.......
Setting their priorities right.....
Managing time effectively....

Likewise, I want to continue paying my price and ready for my time of the breakthrough.
I believe in due time, in His time, He will make things beautiful.

I believe and I am trusting in my God.

Proverbs 10:22 Amplified Bible. "The blessing of the Lord--it makes [truly] rich, and He adds no sorrow with it [neither does toiling increase it]."

Eat, Pray, and Love

This Novel has been the most popular novel within these past months.
Everywhere I go, Barnes and Noble or Borders, display this novel as one of the bestsellers.
Still reading the book, I find the book interesting.

What's more exciting is that Columbia Pictures Production is currently creating the movie!
Expected Released date is in 2010.
As the movie is produced by Brad Pitt, and Julia Roberts plays as the leading actress, I am marking my calendar for this :)

The movie takes place in New York, Naples (Italy), Pataudi (India), and Bali (Indonesia).
Being Indonesian, I am proud knowing that they are filming it in Bali.
So, my balinese friends, you might see Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts in Bali these days!

2012. End of The World?

With the movie "2012" being released...
people are getting more aware of where the world is going.
The world is not getting better......
Many people sense that the end of the world is coming....

I like Dr. House, MD's quote on one of his episodes:
"Almost dying changes nothing. Dying changes everything."

So, with the all uncertainty, or odd predictions of when the world is going to end...
Does it change your life? How so?

If, you have 24 hours to live, how will you spend it?

Live as if your were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever. -- Gandhi

Let's not forget to learn from Jesus on how He spent His Final hours before The Cross.

1.5 months 'til 2010

Ahh....time flies!
the only good thing is that we are the pilot.
This morning, I woke up and suddenly the date popped up in my mind.
November 15, 2009.
It is exactly 1.5 months until 2010!
Am I ready for 2010?
Are there things I need to get done in 2009?
Anything that I can put behind in 2009 and leave it there,
so that I can start a brand new 2010?
How about my New Year's Resolution List for 2009?
Has it all been fulfilled?

So many questions......so many things....
So little time.

I will use this 1.5 month effectively.

Oh, I think I will read "First Thing First" by Stephen R. Covey
or...just do the worksheet:

Do you ever say something that you don't mean?

Perhaps, everyone does.

Thinking more, should we utter words just to fill the silence?
Just to flatter someone?
(well, we should be generous with words of encouragement,
but words of flattery on looks or wealth is a bit shallow.....isnt it?)

I am just challenged to really mean what I say.
Think before I say, so that I won't regret it.
~in which often i fail, my mouth runs faster than my brain~ but i won't stop trying.

And, I try not to boast or speak unintended lies on which I am accountable to.

James 3: 5 NIV "Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark."

Pay-it-Forward. Pass the Cheer.

Just watched Pay-it-forward movie recently.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0223897/
Great movie! Very inspirational.
It reminded me of Starbuck's program "Pass the Cheer" in 2007
Starbucks gave you a free drink coupon.
Either you can use it, or you can pass it on for the next customer.

It gets more exciting when you order a coffee or meal on a drive-thru,
and the cashier said that the car in front of you has paid for your order.
Isn't that neat?

Random Act of Kindness can really help during this slow Holiday Season :)

Be the change you want to see in the world ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Luke 6:31 "Do to others as you would have them do to you"

I think I will do one soon in a drive-thru. Hope it lasts to many cars....
